I’ve been on a bit of a foundation frenzy recently, some are new launches and others are blogger faves that I’ve wanted to try for a while. Today’s mini review/first impressions is on the EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation. I have seen this product all over insta and other social media.
EX1 was created by Farah Naz, who realised there was a gap in the Cosmetics market for foundation shades specifically created for olive skin tones. Now the brand has grown to offer a range of golden hued shades to suit a variety of skin tones. This is the key to the brands success, the foundation is GOLDEN toned, not orange like so many of the foundation shades of rival brands. EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation is also perfect for those who self tan or have yellow undertones.
This is a brand which has been embraced by celebrities and beauty editors alike, EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation has been worn by Adele, Rita Ora, Kate Hudson and Kate Winslet. Glamour named it the top foundation of 2016, it has also been featured in Hello! magazine.
So on to the product. The foundation is lightweight, medium to full coverage, has a luminous finish and is oil free. I use shade 3.0, which I was matched to. The EX1 website has a foundation matching table, which tells you which shade is best for you based on which brand/shade you already use. So Shade 3.0 is comparable to my MAC Studio Fix in NC20 and L’Oréal True Match 2N.
The foundation applies beautifully, it does have a luminosity that is pretty but not excessively dewy, I’m oily skinned so I tend to stay away from anything with a dewy finish. I think that because this foundation is golden toned, having a little luminosity adds to the ethereal glow! It has good coverage, I didn’t need to build it up, the initial application was sufficient to cover my freckles and minor blemishes. It’s very lightweight and not at all cakey. I have worn it a lot since buying it, I have not noticed that it breaks up in my super oily T zone, and it has even stayed put during the hot weather!
It’s an absolute steal £12.50 for 30ml, there are 12 shades to choose from.
